In Honor of the 32nd Annual Gathering of Nations, (April 25 – 27) I’d be amiss if I didn’t include something about the various Native American nations that started a way of life for me in fighting for indigenous people, not just here in the United States, but around the world.

Over 500 treaties were made with the various Native American nations, and the federal government has broken them all, denying the the resources and land that was taken away from them and forcing them to live on reservations, being abused, and murdered.  The government can (and has) taken away everything they can, but they will never break the spirit of these beautiful people.

Run for the Ribbon – Mark Your Calendar

The 7th annual “Run for the Ribbon 5K Run/Walk” will be held on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 8:45 AM at the Detroit Zoo, sponsored by MIU (Michigan Institute of Urology), Men’s Health Foundation to benefit prostate cancer survivorship.  Create a team with family and friends! 

Online registration closes June 19, 2015.  You can register online at www.MIURunForTheRibbon.org., by mail at MIU Run for the Ribbon, 20952 E. 12 Mile Rd., Suite 200, St.Clair Shores, MI 48081, in person at all Michigan Institute of Urology offices, or race day registration beginning at 7:15 AM at the Detroit Zoo.  Registration fees are:

  • Early registration by 5/22/15 – Adults $25 – Kids -$15
  • Registration 5/23 – 6/19 – Adults $30 – Kids – $20
  • Race day – Adults $35 – Kids $25

Run for the Ribbon Night Full of Fun!

Please join us for a night full of fun, laughs and chances to win fun prizes with our raffle table 50/50.  We will also have a donation table for any loose change.  You can enjoy dinner prior to the comedy show for 10% discount or purchase appetizers during the show.  There will be limited seating so act quick to enjoy a night out for the MIU Trenton comedy fundraiser.
