Dear Defenders of Life– David Daleiden — the man behind the Center for Medical Progress videos– the young, courageous hero who has altered the landscape of the abortion wars, will be coming to Michigan as the guest of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society–AND WILL BE THE KEY-NOTE SPEAKER AT OUR FUNDRAISER— Friday, April, 29th AND I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP TO PLAN THIS EVENT! The event will take place at Christ the King Church in Ann Arbor– either in the church itself– or the “Barn” which seats up to 500 persons.

Girl Scouts: “We Partner With Planned Parenthood Organizations”
Girl Scouts of USA’s former CEO, Kathy Cloninger, can be seen in the following video espousing her proud claim that Girl Scouts partners with Planned Parenthood. As much as she, the current CEO, Anna Maria Chavez, and others deny the claim, one only has to do their own homework to see that nothing has changed when it comes to their indoctrinating our young girls.
Since Planned Parenthood is quoted as saying “young people understand that they are entitled to sexual pleasure and how to experience different forms of sexual pleasure is important for their health and well-being”, they provide graphic instruction in their various publications and websites on multiple ways youth can obtain sexual pleasure. Planned Parenthood teaches promiscuity to children, grooming future birth control and abortion clients. Planned Parenthood sex-education has that has distributed “educational” material, considered by many groups to be pornographic, to kids as young as 10 years old.
According to Life News, “Curiously, there are no pro-life groups recommended by the Girl Scouts curriculum for girls. However, Girl Scout curriculum does recommend many abortion rights advocacy organizations and resources like:
- WAGGGS.org – Girl Scouts tell girls to check out WAGGGS.org which advocates for abortion and contains other concerning content.
- DoSomething.org – Girl Scouts promotes this resource which refers girls to Planned Parenthood for contraception and to the Guttmacher Institute for a guide to minor’s abortion rights
- Idealist.org – Girl Scout directs girls to idealist.org, which lists hundreds of paid and volunteer jobs at Planned Parenthood, to learn more about being an advocate.
- ACLU – Girl Scouts encourages girls to consider several advocacy careers including as an ACLU lawyer.
- Amnesty International and Population Council – Girl Scouts recommends girls research these pro-abortion organizations on the internet.”
Upper Downriver Right to Life Christmas Card Design Winners
Christmas cards were sold featuring the winning entries from the third annual Christmas card design art contest sponsored by Upper Downriver Right to Life. The first place winner in the high school age group was Katelyn Lesko, a ninth grader at Roosevelt High School and a member of Our Lady of the Scapular parish. She received a $100 check and 10 Christmas cards of her design. The second place winner was Anastasia Evich, a home-schooled ninth grader who received 10 cards made with her design. The winner in the 5-8 category was Maya Mehall (see picture below), a seventh grader from John Paul II Catholic School in Lincoln Park. She received a $50 check.
Second place was awarded to Heliena Layton, a 5th grader from St. Pius Parish in Southgate. Each first and second place winner received 10 Christmas cards made from their art work. All of the winning art designs incorporated the nativity story of the birth of Jesus in a unique manner.
Katelyn Lesko explained that she had learned in the art class that a smiling Madonna could express the joyous and serene moments with her newborn son. She was ready to compose her entry on a day with no school. After gathering her art paper, pencils and pastels, she noticed a picture on the dresser of her grandmother holding her newborn granddaughter only months before she died. It was a wonderful image of the precious beginning and end of life. The composition of that photograph became the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus with his tiny fingers wrapped around the finger of His mother.

Donna Harrison, M.D.is a bord certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She has lectured extensively as a Continuing Medical Education speaker in the United States and internationally on topics of medical abortion with mifepristone and misoprostol, emergency contraception with ulipristal, and maternal mortality and the association with abortion. She has authored peerith medical abortion and mifepristone and misoprostol, and mechanisms of action of ulipristal.

March for Life – January 22
There is still space on the Right to Life of Michigan charter for the annual March for Life in Washington DC. Call Joseph Connors for your reservation (800) 295-4227. Red eye bus departs from Trenton on Tuesday evening, January 21. The March for Life is Wednesday and the bus returns that evening arriving home early on Thursday, January 23. Cost is $100 for adults; young adults (under 21) are $50 and must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone. No meals included.
Call your local Right to Life group to find out where a bus is leaving from in your area.
