Please join us at one or all of the following events. We will commemorate the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. The first MARCH FOR LIFE was held on January 24, 1974 on the west steps of the capitol, with an estimated 20,000 supporters in attendance.
During the 33rd annual MARCH FOR LIFE in 2006, the nomination of Judge Samuel A. Alito to the Supreme Court caused a major positive shift, because of the expectation that Alito would “win Senate approval and join a majority in overturning Roe.”
Around the time of the 35th annual MARCH FOR LIFE in 2008, a Guttmacher Institute report was released, which revealed that the number of abortions performed in the United States dropped to 1.2 million in 2005. This was the lowest level of abortions since 1976. Although this seemed like a victory, many march participants stressed that the figures were not a large enough decline. Many marchers said they would not stop protesting until abortions were illegal.
During the 2009 MARCH FOR LIFE, the threat of passage by the 111th Congress of the Freedom of Choice Act—a bill that would “codify Roe v. Wade” by declaring a fundamental right to abortion and lifting many restrictions on abortion—served as a key rallying point, because pro-lifers worried that the legislation would eliminate certain abortion restrictions like parental notification for minors and repeal the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.
From year to year, phrases on signs at the march have included “We Choose Life”, “End Abortion Now”, “Your Mom Chose Life”, “Give Life, Don’t Take It”, “Defend Life”, “Women Deserve Better Than Abortion”, “Michigan Loves Our Pro-Life President”, “Respect Life, Diocese of Pittsburgh”, “Abortion Kills”, “Stop Unborn Child Abuse”, and “Equal Rights for Unborn Women”. Others compared abortions to “Hitler’s Holocaust”. Many sing and chant phrases such as “Pro-choice, that’s a lie, babies never choose to die!”
Itinerary
The MARCH FOR LIFE proceedings begin around noon. They typically consist of a rally at the National Mall near Fourth Street. It is followed by THE MARCH which travels down Constitution Avenue NW, turns right at First Street and then ends on the steps of the Supreme Court of the United States, where another rally is held. Many protesters start the day by delivering roses and lobbying members of Congress.
Attendance
Since 2003, the MARCH FOR LIFE has consistently brought in around 250,000 attendees every year.
Approximately 5,000 participated in the 14th annual march in 1987, despite a snowstorm. Many teenagers and college Young Adults attend the march each year, typically traveling with church/youth groups. Washington Post columnist Robert McCartney estimated that about half of the marchers are under age 30.
All of the foregoing was quoted from Wikipedia.com
January 25, 2013 marked the 40th anniversary of ROEvWADE. It was reported that 650,000 people amassed and marched on the capitol, one of the LARGEST attended marches.

April 23, 2016, Citizens for a Pro-Life Society held the first annual protest in 220 cities (15 in Michigan) to protest Planned Parenthood’s killing of unborn children and that group’s harvesting of aborted baby body parts. Future protests will be held every year on the 4th Saturday of April. At the Planned Parenthood Clinic located at 4229 Cass Avenue in Detroit, a group of Satanists arrived and conducted this bizarre street theater, with grotesque imagery and convoluted symbolism. Planned Parenthood should be very embarrassed to have these sorts of people defending their organization, but then I suppose neither of these groups see the sanctity of life, so they obviously see the Satanists as being on their side.
Is this really what our country has come to? What happened to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to peacefully protest, and freedom to live peacefully in accordance to your beliefs? What gives groups like this the right to cause chaos and violence whenever people want to be able to make their voices heard? I don’t care if it is a difference in political views, a difference in the pro-life, pro-choice arguments, the difference in views about our men in blue or our military personnel who are risking their lives to protect us – NO ONE has the right to shut down groups of peaceful protesters, be it in acts like in the video below, or defecating on police cars, burning or destroying businesses, physically punching others or killing others who disagree with their opinions, as has been seen this last year all over this country, as the anarchists seem to be growing in number – that isn’t a surprising fact that the numbers are growing because of the fact that various groups actually pay them to attend events and cause violence. One only has to do their research to see that lawsuits were instituted by these anarchists for non payment as high as $5,000 per month. It also explains when asked why they are doing what they do, the majority of them can’t even answer that simple question because to them it is not a matter of a “cause” they believe in, but more a matter of getting paid.
I am so very proud of our local Upper Downriver Right to Life group (pictured above, although we had others in different locations) turn out. This picture is only of a few that where there. Unfortunately I was not able to attend as the day conflicted with my religious holiday, so people of our group sent me the photo and the following report:
“We arrived a bit after 10:30. Approximately more than 50 were there, but no security. (I had asked if there was any police presence to protect the pro-life group.)
Dr. Monica Miller spoke to a film crew and even afterwards a UD-RTL member – Jenny also was interviewed.
The satanic group showed up and rudely placed themselves in front of the CPLS to antagonize as always. But this being a peaceful protest on our part we diligently stood up with Signage, “Defund Planned Parenthood”, “Stop Abortion”, “Pray for the Babies in danger of being aborted”, etc.
Then the CPLS group was also assaulted verbally by the “Owner of the Planned Parenthood building”, but Dr. Miller and others maintained, and with the mention of calling the police, the verbal abuser left. This was all maybe 5 to ten minutes at the most.”
Another person from our local group submitted the following:
“Hi Joyce, I wanted to go to the PP in Ferndale Saturday, but Summit had to be covered. There were two very aggressive death escorts trying to prevent us from talking to the girls. We had one altercation.
At Ferndale, they had a procession with a priest from St. James church, up Woodward Avenue to Planned Parenthood, about one mile. At Cass there was a demonstrator who objected very aggressively to the graphic pictures, the video is on Facebook. Monica Miller, head of Citizens for a Pro Life Society, was trying to educate him. After Summit, I went to the ICU mobile where there was two appointments, both chose life.”
I’ve added below the video, not that I want to give any more attention to the Satanists (because they don’t deserve any as far as I am concerned) but to show the difference in what the pro-life movement has to put up with, the uneducated and misinformation that one of the female Satanists had to say, and how no one hears a word from Planned Parenthood that discourages this type of insanity.
AS A BLOGGER, I KNOW I AM GOING TO GET A RESPONSE FROM THE DETROIT SATANIST GROUP BECAUSE THEY, AS WELL AS OTHER GROUPS, LOVE ANTAGONIZING ME VIA MY BLOG, BUT LET ME INFORM THEM RIGHT NOW THAT I WILL BLOCK THEIR WORDS OF HATRED FROM MY BLOG SO THEY WILL NOT GET THEIR WORDS OF HATRED SEEN, WHICH IS WHAT THEY WANT – MORE EXPOSURE.

40 DFL Ann Arbor Excited to Announce that Cecelia Tombelli Will be the Keynote Speaker at Our Jericho March and Kickoff Rally to be Held, Sun. Feb. 7th!
Please join your neighbors on Sunday, February 7th, at 2:00 pm for the 40 Days For Life Ann Arbor, Jericho March and Kickoff Rally beginning and ending at Planned Parenthood, 3100 Professional Dr in Ann Arbor.
Everyone is invited to join us in an Interfaith Expression of Spiritual Warfare, as we complete a one mile lap around the triangular block that surrounds Planned Parenthood with prayer and singing. Cecelia Tombelli, coordinator of the New Life Center – Project Rachel in Lansing, will be our keynote speaker. After closing down what was Lansing’s last free-standing surgical abortion clinic, the New Life Center began hosting post-abortion recovery classes to help heal the wounds and invite women to let go of their depression, anger, shame, self-reproach and guilt caused by the decision to abort.
In this Year of Mercy, Cecilia’s message will be vitally important. Each Sunday during the campaign we will complete another lap of the Jericho March, concluding Palm Sunday, March 20th, We don’t expect the physical walls of the building to crumble, but we do expect the spiritual walls to continue to crumble, so that Planned Parenthood’s chambers will no longer be used to destroy children, so that workers and mothers and fathers and children and families and communities and our nation can be freed from their deadly influence.
The snow storm in Washington, DC caused the cancellation of three bus loads with 150 people from the Downriver area planning to attend the annual March for Life in Washington, DC on January 22nd. The bus trip was organized by Southern Downriver Right to Life and was to have included many students from both Gabriel Richard (Riverview) and St. Frances Cabrini (Allen Park) High Schools.
In Wyandotte, snow was not a problem for the 80 people who participated in the January 24th March for Life organized by Upper Downriver Right to Life, another affiliate of Right to Life of Michigan.
The group departed from Our Lady of the Scapular parish in Wyandotte. They prayed the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary as they walked past three of the neighborhood Rosary Shrines on their way to Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In the chapel, Deacon Luis Flores, assisted by Deacon Richard Bloomfield, led a prayer service remembering more than 57 million victims of abortion since the Roe v. Wade decision of the Supreme Court on January 22, 1973. The group also prayed for the healing of mothers whose babies were aborted, that medical personnel involved with abortion would become healers and stop the killing, and for government officials to help bring an end to abortion.
Choir members from St. Patrick Church of St. Vincent Pallotti parish led everyone in singing Immaculate Mary as the group processed from the chapel to the adjacent Memorial Monument for the Unborn where the choir sang more hymns. It was 20 years ago, in 1996 when the Knights of Columbus from Wyandotte Council 1802 dedicated the monument. There has been a prayer service there every year since.
Following the prayer service, many warmed up with hot chocolate, donuts and pizza at the Right to Life of Michigan Education Office Open House on 20th and Eureka in Wyandotte.
The bus from Dearborn’s Divine Child High School and some others from the Metro Detroit area did make it, but with delays caused by the snow on their return trip.

Another prayer service had been held January 17th, organized by Paul McKenzie at Community Bible Church in Trenton. Song, prayer, a skit and the stories of two families who had adopted children showed the value of all human life, born and unborn. Giving a child up for adoption costs the mother nothing. It can cost the adoptive parents up to $40,000. An abortion typically costs $400. Elayna Brown and Claire Castle sang “Who will speak up for the little ones? I’ve got to speak up, won’t you?”

As horrible as these facts are when it comes to gendercide in India and China, it is imperative that we here in America and other places around the world get involved to stop it there, and to stop it here before it becomes a common practice.
Anyone who keeps track of Planned Parenthood has already seen the videos on the subject of gendercide here in America with couples asking about possible abortions if they prefer one gender over the other, and replies by Planned Parenthood on how it can be done. Is this really what this country has come to – do we really want to continue the Margaret Sanger way of thinking like certain politicians ascribe to? Click on the link below to see the video and to learn more on man’s inhumanity to man (or in more cases – women). If there is such a thing as “war on woman”, this certainly proves it but in an entirely different light then what people hear or see on TV.
