Watch Hillary Video On Abortion: ‘Deep-Seated Cultural Codes, Religious Beliefs And Structural Biases Have To Be Changed’

I know there is nothing Hillary Clinton or anyone else can say that will ever make me change my religious beliefs, my belief in the sanctity of life, or my moral or ethical standards, and I’m pretty positive most people feel the same way as I do.  Try as they may with their hypocritical words, their mandated laws, and their desire to control, the last I heard  a democracy is:

  •  a form of government in which people choose leaders by voting (so keep this in mind when you go to the polls.  Know who you are voting for and what they stand for.  Look at their actions, check out the ways they voted or stood on various issues in the past, and most of all do not depend on their words alone.  Did they believe one way and then switched positions because they thought they could get more votes?)
  •  an organization or situation in which everyone is treated equally and has equal rights (and that means we all have the right to believe as we do, practice the religion we choose, to speak up for what we believe, and it does not mean anyone has the right to force us into their way of thinking or acting.  No matter what side you are on, we have the right to our own individual beliefs and choices.  If an individual, or any religious organization does not believe in abortion or anything else, our tax dollars should  not be used to perform them, or laws passed that force us into doing what goes against our beliefs, nor should they be fined or forced out of business for the sake of the opposing view.)

Democracy does not mean the leaders of the county have a right to side with lobbyists against the desire of the people, or large corporation or donors who contribute to their campaigns.  Democracy means “government of the people, by the people, for the people”

According to the Food Democracy Action team, “Earlier this morning the U.S. Senate voted 60 to 37 to pass cloture on Fast Track authority on the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). Today’s vote was a procedural vote on cloture, which limits debate on this secret international trade agreement, the language of which, the American public has not been allowed to read.

This vote, and the secrecy surrounding the Fast Track agreement, is an absolute betrayal of the American people that undermines representative democracy and the important consumer protection laws that local, state and federal elected officials have passed to protect our health, environment and economy.

These 13 Democratic Senators Just Betrayed the American Dream – Make sure they Hear from YOU Today!

Hillary Clinton Endorses GMOs While White House Meals are Organic

first_garden_04

(Picture of white house ORGANIC -non GMO – food)

Reports indicate White House meals are organic. Michelle Obama’s book titled “American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America indicate the first family’s commitment to organic (non-GMO) foods in their personal diet.  (NOTE:  Under this administration, like others,  have always and still continue to side with big corporations like Monsanto, Dow, etc., and fought against mandated labeling.  Think about this the next time you vote.  Vote for people who care about the health of the people instead of their pocketbooks.)

Bounty from the white house garden:  Fifty-five different varieties of berries, vegetables and herbs are grown in the garden, including parsley, cilantro, peppers, chard, arugula, chives, chamomile and several kinds of lettuce (green oak leaf, red romaine, butterhead and galactic).

What they want the rest of America to eat is another story altogether – especially if Hillary is elected president in November 2016.

At a July 2014 biotech conference, she publicly endorsed GMOs saying “I stand in favor of using seeds and products that have a proven track record.”

She attacked GMO critics adding “there is a big gap between what the facts are, and what the perceptions are.”

The Clinton and Bush II families ate organic foods. Walter Scheib was White House executive chef from 1994 – 2005.

He had “the professional challenge of fulfilling Hillary Clinton’s mandate of bringing contemporary American cuisine and nutritionally responsible food to the White House,” he said.

Nearly all foods used were gotten from local growers and suppliers. A small White House roof garden was used for produce grown without pesticides and fertilizers. Organic foods were prioritized.

First families continue getting wholesome pesticide/GMO-free foods while promoting frankenfoods hazardous to human health for Monsanto and other biotech giants.

In 2014, Organic Consumers Union associate director Katherine Paul said “if Hillary Clinton intends to run for office in 2016, she should think carefully about supporting a food and farming system that is proven to be detrimental to public health.”

Her view are “no different than those of previous administrations, including the Bush (II), Clinton, (Bush I) and Reagan administrations, and they are taken straight from the biotech industry’s talking points.

Hillary’s biotech/agribusiness ties surfaced in the 1980s as a Rose Law firm lawyer. Monsanto and Tyson Foods were clients.

As Secretary of State, her State Department heavily pressured other countries to use GMOs. Taxpayer money was used to promote them worldwide.

Big Lies were spread, hard truths suppressed. Industry talking points substituted for prioritizing food safety.

On May 17, the Washington Times said Hillary’s biotech/agribusiness ties earned her the nickname “Bride of Frankenfood.”

“In the GMO debate, Mrs. Clinton has consistently sided with the chemical companies,” WT said.

Monsanto gave the Clinton Foundation from half a million to one million dollars – Ag giant Dow Chemical from one to five million dollars, according to Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation disclosures.

Numerous other corporate giants contributed large sums. Expect them donating handsomely to Hillary’s presidential campaign.

She chose longtime Monsanto lobbyist Jerry Crawford to serve as advisor to her “Ready for Hillary” super PAC.

Earlier he worked for Bill Clinton, Al Gore and John Kerry. He’s involved in fighting small farmers judicially – to protect Monsanto’s seed interests.

Throughout her professional career, especially in politics and as first lady, Hillary has been on the wrong side of major issues mattering most – including healthcare, safe food and promoting war over peace and stability.

It’s not coincidental that she and Bill became super-rich after leaving the White House in 2001.

Financial disclosures show they earned over $163 million from 2001 – 2012 – including Hillary’s years as New York senator and Secretary of State.

In speeches delivered since January 2014, they earned more than $25 million. Hillary earned over $5 million from her 2014 memoir, “Hard Choices.”

Her foundation took Saudi and Ukrainian oligarch/former parliamentarian dirty money. Over a dozen foreign influence peddlers were large foundation donors – after Clinton became Secretary of State in 2009.

As a presidential aspirant, critics claim a potentially serious conflict of interest accepting millions of dollars from foreign governments she’d have direct dealings with if elected.

Federal law prohibits governments, corporations, individuals and groups from contributing to US political campaigns.

Let’s not forget that speech where Hillary said when they left the white house they were broke and had problems paying for their mortgages (plural), and their daughter’s wedding – REALLY!)

Why don’t we?

GMO Labeling Laws Around the World: The 64 Countries That Do It

The U.S. currently enforces no mandatory labeling laws on genetically modified foods. Yet we still position ourselves as the world’s most powerful nation. What kind of powerful nation refuses to empower its citizens with the rights to make informed decisions about the food they eat?

These 64 countries, some considerably less “powerful” than the U.S., have mandatory labeling laws on foods containing genetically modified ingredients. You can view a very informative map of the world and the countries with and without GMO labeling laws on the Center for Food Safety’s website. The U.S., along with most of Africa and the Middle East, lags behind the rest of the world, even despite rising consumer concern and pressure on the FDA.

These countries require mandatory labeling of nearly all GMO foods and a labeling threshold of 0.9–1% GMO content. (Threshold refers to content per ingredient in each food item.)

  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Belarus
  • Belgium
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Bulgaria
  • Croatia
  • Cyprus
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Estonia
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • Iceland
  • Italy
  • Ireland
  • Kazakhstan
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania
  • Luxembourg
  • Malta
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Romania
  • Russia
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Slovakia
  • Slovenia
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • Turkey
  • UK

These countries require mandatory labeling of many GMO foods and a labeling threshold higher than 1% or undefined. This includes laws with a threshold of 1% for the entire food item.

  • Brazil
  • China
  • Indonesia
  • Japan
  • Kenya
  • Malaysia
  • South Africa
  • South Korea
  • Sri Lanka
  • Ukraine

These countries require mandatory labeling of some GMO foods, but with numerous exceptions and no labeling threshold defined; or a vague mandatory GMO food labeling law that lacks implemention and enforcement provisions.

  • Cameroon
  • Ecuador
  • El Salvador
  • Ethiopia

Monsanto ordered to pay $93 million for poisoning local citizens with Agent Orange chemicals.

AgentOrange1

Earlier this month the State Supreme Court of West Virginia dealt a huge blow to the biotech company Monsanto, ordering it to pay $93 million to the small town of Nitro, West Virginia for poisoning local citizens with Agent Orange chemicals.

Approved last year, the details were only recently worked out a few weeks ago as to how the funds would be dispersed.

As mandated in the settlement:

  •     $9 million will be spent to clean dioxin contaminated dust from 4500 homes.
  •     $21 million will be spent to test to see if people have been poisoned with dioxin.
(Citizens will be monitored for such poisoning for 30 years, not just a few months.)
  •    An additional $63 million is to be allotted if additional tests for dioxin contamination testing is necessary.

Anyone who lived in the Nitro area between Jan. 1, 1948, and Sept. 3, 2010 will be tested for dioxin. Although they must show proof they lived in the area, they will be eligible for testing even if they no longer live in Nitro.  Former or present employees of Monsanto are not eligible for any of these benefits.

An office will be set up to organize testing for Nitro citizens. The registration of participants is to be overlooked by Charleston attorney Thomas Flaherty, who was appointed by the court.  Residents have a right to file individual suits against Monsanto if medical tests show they suffered physical harm due to dioxin exposure.

Such goes to show that little towns CAN deal big blows to giant corporations.

As reported by Natural Society, Monsanto was producing the toxic herbicide Agent Orange in Nitro, and dioxin is a chemical byproduct of the substance. Known to cause serious health conditions, residents were not too pleased when they received word they were in close proximity with the toxin.

The factory which produced Agent Orange was opened in the West Virginian town in 1948 and remained operational until 2004 – even after it was found to be fatal to millions when used in Vietnam and other Asian countries.

Said Arnold Schecter and Jon Constable, “There is no doubt that during and after the war, many Vietnamese absorbed this very toxic material [dioxin]. It is our belief from toxicological research and epidemiological studies from many countries that this dioxin probably resulted in significant health effects in Vietnam.

The politics of dioxin has been bitterly debated since the Vietnam War, but … we know that there is a health issue there and hopefully people will get their houses cleaned and the risk will come to an end and those exposed in the past will have the benefit of keeping an eye on their health.”

Attorney Stuart Calwell told The Charleston Gazette that “It’s been a real long haul.” Caldwell represented Nitro area residents in a class action suit that prompted the biotech giant, Monsanto, to make the settlement.

In order to receive the benefits outlined in the settlement, residents of Nitro still need to fill out a register. And due to the serious importance of this landmark case, residents in the area are urged to participate as fully as possible to set a precedent for other class action suits that farmers and consumers of GMO foods around the world might ignite against Monsanto in the future.

If enough people join together to raise awareness and support for efforts against Monsanto, inevitably the corporate giant will pay for its deeds.  (NOTE:  Their profits have dropped by the millions upon millions of dollars as the truth gets out.)

There will be more and more lawsuits against Monsanto so we can easily assume this is the reason they want to change their name and move their headquarters out of this country, and I’m quite sure not paying taxes at lower rates hasn’t discouraged them either.

Fruit Loops Sample was Sent to a Lab for Tests – What They Found Should Have Every Parent Concerned

fruit

(Information source:  Organic Consumers, Org.)

For millions of kids across the country Kellogg’s Fruit Loops have been a staple part of their morning diet.

But are Kellogg’s Fruit Loops really safe, and should parents strongly consider boycotting them until the company finally listens to activists and removes all the unnecessary junk?

It’s common knowledge that the sugary breakfast cereal is anything but healthy, especially in the morning when kids are still adjusting and heading out for a long day, but a new lab analysis is showing just how bad the cereal really is for kids.

What’s in a Fruit Loop? Harmful Chemicals, GMOs and More.

The website and advocacy group GMO Free USA has gained popularity nationwide for taking on and refuting GMO myths through social media awareness and education, and lately they’ve begun branching out by conducting lab tests on popular foods.

The lab tests are important because GMO labeling is still a right not offered to United States consumers as it is in 60+ countries around the world.

In order to test the Fruit Loops for harmful chemicals as well as GMO material, a lab sample was submitted of Fruit Loops to a certified lab.

It found that a full 100% of the corn in Fruit Loops was GMO, through a quantitative PCR test by DNA analysis that found sequences that are known to be present in insecticide producing Bt and Roundup Ready corn.

In addition, sequences known to be present in Roundup Ready soy (which is engineered so that it can be doused in Monsanto’s herbicide of the same name) was present as well.

Why This Particular Type of GMO Corn is So Harmful?

As noted by GMO Free USA, the amount of GMO corn in Fruit Loops is particularly troublesome because of the unnatural and potentially toxic nature of it.

As GMO Free USA noted:

The corn in Fruit Loops produces insecticides from inside every cell of the plant that can’t be washed off and is regulated by the EPA. The FDA, EPA, and USDA allowed the insecticidal GMO corn discovered in Fruit Loops to be commercialized without ever conducting human safety tests.

Glyphosate Also Discovered

The active ingredient in Roundup, the Monsanto product sprayed liberally by famers of GMO crops, was also tested in Fruit Loops and found at a level of .12 ppm, or .12 mg/kg according to GMO Free USA’s tests.

Glyphosate exposure has been linked to gut health problems, endocrine disruption, cancer and much more as GMO Free USA noted along with its list of study links.

Considering that children eat more food per pound of body weight than adults and that U.S. “safe” levels are far higher than in Europe (nearly 6 times higher to be exact), GMO Free USA is sounding the alarm and hoping that more parents will choose organic food for their kids rather than potentially harmful cereals like Fruit Loops.

“We are deeply concerned about the health risks of genetically engineered foods and the associated insecticides and herbicides, especially their effect on the bodies of growing children. Children eat more food per pound of body weight than the average adult. As a result, pound for pound, they have substantially heavier exposures than adults to any toxins that are present in food, water or air. Children are undergoing rapid growth and development and their delicate developmental processes are easily disrupted. We must keep them safe,” said Alexandra Zissu, Editorial Director of Healthy Child Healthy World, which GMO Free USA concurred with, saying the test results give “significant reason for concern.”
