Upper Downriver Right to Life held its successful annual LIFE WALK on Saturday morning, June 9th. The Life Walkers met at the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Park. Despite the threatening rain, 22 walkers represented donations from 106 people for a total of $1364. Dan McGuire turned in the most pledges and was awarded the $100 prize and a medal depicting the Wyandotte Indian family statue.
The group walked northward along Fort Street to the Lincoln Park Crisis Pregnancy Center at Southfield. They were welcomed there with a tour of the facility, looking at the resources available to mothers as well as the counseling rooms. The group then walked back to the church for pizza and a potluck lunch.
