I can’t thank you enough for all that you did for our mission at Students for Life in 2015. From your prayers, to your financial gifts, to your referrals to students who we should train, because of you our small team of one person has now morphed into 28!
Ten years ago this month, Students for Life officially announced our name change from American Collegians to Life to Students for Life. Ten years ago a plan was made and set into motion to launch our mission full-time. Our goal was lofty – go on the offense, meet students where they are targeted by the Culture of Death, and mobilize this generation to take a stand against the greatest injustice of our time.
I’m honored to say that our big gamble, our leap of faith, paid off.
Now, I want to ask you to join me in the next phase of our movement. As I mentioned to you last week, next school year we will reach 1,000 active groups in all 50 states. So now is time is for us to increase our work activating Students for Life groups across the nation, to be more courageous than ever before.
So, can you join our Students for Life 2016 Prayer Team?
Make no mistake about it, 2016 is going to be pivotal for our movement.
Planned Parenthood is pushing back harder than before. Most of the college students we engaged last semester were already spouting off their talking points about how the Center for Medical Progress videos were fake and how Planned Parenthood was helping people when selling baby body parts.
The election this year will determine if we get justices to the Supreme Court who will finally overturn Roe and Doe or expand abortion access in our nation. Truly ending abortion in our lifetime could very well depend on who is elected President and who is in control of the Senate. This month, we expect President Obama to veto the reconciliation bill that defunded Planned Parenthood in December. So that too will be determined by our next leader.
I don’t know about you but when I think about all that is at stake this year and all that we are going to have to fight so very hard to do I know we need more than wisdom and resources.
We need Him. We need the Creator of the Universe.
If you are able, please take 1 minute today to sign up to join our Students for Life Prayer Team.
As a member of our 2016 Prayer Team, you will get e-mails twice a month from me that list out our prayer needs and intentions. And my hope is that you will pray over the list daily as well as forward it on to your friends and family members.
We can defund and, ultimately, shut down Planned Parenthood. We can elect a pro-life President and Congress. We can end abortion in our nation.
But we need to petition our Maker first.
For Life,
Kristan Hawkins
President, Students for Life of America
