How High Schools Discriminate Against Students for Life Clubs

Isabell-Akers-e1429204613128-225x300

Whenever I think of young people speaking up for what they believe, it is a real inspiration and their voices need to be heard.  From high schools to college campuses, there is a fight going on, and these young people are growing in numbers and spreading their message across the country – we need to support them if not by donations (which is always good), but at least by a quick tweet or a reply on their blog to let them know we are championing their “cause”.

Principal Steve Madson of Hampton-Dumont High School received a demand letter from the law firm for Students for Life of America, charging that the Principal  has unconstitutionally discriminated against Isabell Akers by denying her the right to form a Students for Life club at the school.  After a long battle the Principal claimed that the Students for Life club is too “controversial”, forbidding the students from putting up posters or being included in the yearbook with other clubs by using the justification that the club doesn’t tie in with the school’s curriculum, but neither do most of the school’s other clubs at the school.  This denial by the administrators constitutes a violation of the students’ rights under both the Federal Equal Access Act and the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Isabell stated “I wanted to spend my high school career educating my fellow students on the beauty of human life and providing resources to girls at my school, but instead I have been fighting for my First Amendment rights”.

Another voice to be reckoned with is Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America.  “On the contrary, high school students have the right to form Students for Life clubs to educate and inform their peers on the tragedy of abortion and to help those facing unplanned, crisis pregnancies….”

Hampton-Dumont High School is not the only school that is discriminating against the freedom of our young people.  Fargo North High School is another one.  To read the complete story about both high schools, please click on:

“Many consider today to be the anniversary of the birth of the environmental movement.  We know that for tribal peoples – the best conservationists and guardians of the natural world – protecting the environment is not a one-off event, but a way of life.  As people around the world reflect on the importance of conservation, please stand up for the tribes whose struggle to protect their lands is the biggest conservation battle of all.”

The above paragraph and photograph is from Survival International, a organization that works for one of the “causes” that is near and dear to me.  It is time to realize these are not disposable humans, but God’s creations and they have a right to live without fear of being killed or forced from their homes by loggers, miners, or other organizations or governments that want to force them to leave their homes so that these groups can make money.  I say PEOPLE OVER MONEY!

Whenever these groups come in contact with the various uncontacted tribes (out of their own greed), they bring diseases that these people have no immune system to help them fight off.  It always seems to bring disaster to these beautiful tribes  who only want to live peacefully without outside contact.  They do not want handouts, to become part of today’s society, they just want to live like the always have – and modern ways is not always better because to them they just live differently, not worse.

Please take a few minutes of your time and help these people by seeing their stories, seeing what injustice is being forced on them, and e-mailing or sending letters to the various governments to show that you support the work of Survival International and people like me.

My first and last word on politics!

I am only going to make one comment when it comes to politics and then drop the subject because I do not want this blog to become some political forum. Ladies, I am talking directly to you. We are almost 18 months away from our next election and I’m already sick of hearing about it every day on the news, but what makes me even sicker is when women encourage us and want us to vote for a female just because they are a female. Whatever happened to judging a person by the content of their character, and that has nothing to do with what sex you are?

It is a sad commentary that I feel it necessary to state that despite the words politicians and candidates say (forget the words and hugging of babies or “catchy” phrases) – look at their record BEFORE they decided to run for office or WHILE they were in an office of a different level. Are the words in line with their prior actions or are they all new words (a new position) because they want to win more votes? They seem to like to say when they flip/flop they have “evolved” – really? How convenient! Does the content of their character show that they are a person who not only will “talk the talk, but walk the walk”? Perhaps I should not have said the previous comment because honesty can live up to those words – but so can dishonesty if it is guided by a particular agenda!

The great Martin Luther King, Jr. once said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Doesn’t it go without saying that this same way of thinking should continue on without personal biases, like judging a person because they are female vs. male, young vs. old, belong to one political party vs. the other (the difference here is if you believe in the agenda itself, that is different than just voting because it is a specific party).

If you are going to go to the poles to vote then you have a responsibility to do your homework and to know who you are voting for, what they stand for based upon their prior experience and record, and anything less is an insult to every other American who wants the smartest, most ethical, honest, talented candidate that stands for all Americans, not just a particular group of Americans, and who is loyal and dedicated to this country that we call HOME. We want a Commander-in-Chief who puts this country, its people, best interest, and its security first and will turn their back on those who prefer their greed for money and power over the people, and will not be bought off by large corporations, favors, and lobbyists. A person who will work within the confines and protect the Constitution of the United States.

If after doing your homework, you still cry out for a woman because she is, in your opinion, the best candidate, then I say “go for it”, but do it because of the content of her character, not because she happened to be born female.

As a female, I am insulted by the  women who obviously consider me, and other independent thinkers, so shallow and narrow minded that we can be led by such rhetoric that it is “time for a woman President”. NO, it is time for a President of any sex that will do the work they are meant to do and will start by getting rid of the pork, all the fraud and abuse, and be responsible enough to protect our borders, our security, and our freedoms.

GMO and Baby Food

ea67f7c6-db5e-4ae5-8819-85dcf1d60fd4Natural Society states “It seems with the many reports of birth defects, organ failure, cancer, and other unsavory health conditions associated with GMO consumption, we should limit the use of GMO in baby products”, but 90% of baby food. has GMOs in them according the laboratory testing, including Similac, Enfamil, and Gerber Good Start…”

Obviously profits are more important than the health of babies and adults in the U.S.A. GMOs even pass through mother’s milk if mom doesn’t stop eating foods filled with GMOs. Some of the biggest corporations fighting the removal and/or labeling of GMO foods are Nestle USA, Mead Johnson, Monsanto, BASF, Abbott Laboratories, and others.

Sign up for the health newsletters from Natural Society to stay informed. Despite the fact that so many countries have already ruled against GMOs, the U.S.A. and Canada are still not willing to put people over profit.

Why Are Churches Working With Planned Parenthood?

presbyterianchurchusa3Let me start out by saying I am not one to bash any church or denomination as that is not who or how I am or what I believe in, but I’m hoping someone can share some light on what in the heck is going on in this country.

I was reading in Life News that a Presbyterian Church in Louisiana hosted a rally to celebrate Planned Parenthood’s Abortion Business last month.

“Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast organized the “Stand with Women” rally in support of a new abortion facility in the Crescent City. The rally took place at the First Presbyterian Church of New Orleans affiliated with the PC(USA). Rev. Fred J. Powell, III is the church pastor who allowed Planned Parenthood to “present a minute for mission” to the church congregation and introduced the abortion clinic chain…”

I watched in disbelief as I saw the women of this church ‘STANDING WITH ABORTIONISTS” – what happened with “STANDING WITH GOD”, the sanctity of life, the unborn child, the women who do not understand the physical, emotional, and psychological affects of abortion, and the help that is out there?

If that wasn’t bad enough, here is another one:  “Episcopal Church Hosting Planned Parenthood Event to Celebrate 42 Years of Abortion”  This time it was a fundraiser put on by Planned Parenthood – 2015 Wichita Chili for Choice – held at St. James Episcopal Church.

episcopalchurch3

Can these ministers and congregations not see the truth?  Can they be so gullible to believe that Pro-choice is murder in the eyes of the Creator of life?  Do they not see the REAL agenda of this organization or know the background of Margaret Sanger, or do they think “Margaret Sanger is the past and the agenda is not the same?”  My naivety would probably choose the latter, but if that statement were true, then why did Hillary Clinton (in 2009) and Nancy Pelosi (in 2014) win the “Margaret Sanger Award”, and why did they praise Margaret Sanger’s work?

I hope others like me will contact both churches and tell them what they are doing is not giving service to their congregation – but a DIS-SERVICE.
