“Many consider today to be the anniversary of the birth of the environmental movement. We know that for tribal peoples – the best conservationists and guardians of the natural world – protecting the environment is not a one-off event, but a way of life. As people around the world reflect on the importance of conservation, please stand up for the tribes whose struggle to protect their lands is the biggest conservation battle of all.”
The above paragraph and photograph is from Survival International, a organization that works for one of the “causes” that is near and dear to me. It is time to realize these are not disposable humans, but God’s creations and they have a right to live without fear of being killed or forced from their homes by loggers, miners, or other organizations or governments that want to force them to leave their homes so that these groups can make money. I say PEOPLE OVER MONEY!
Whenever these groups come in contact with the various uncontacted tribes (out of their own greed), they bring diseases that these people have no immune system to help them fight off. It always seems to bring disaster to these beautiful tribes who only want to live peacefully without outside contact. They do not want handouts, to become part of today’s society, they just want to live like the always have – and modern ways is not always better because to them they just live differently, not worse.
Please take a few minutes of your time and help these people by seeing their stories, seeing what injustice is being forced on them, and e-mailing or sending letters to the various governments to show that you support the work of Survival International and people like me.
